A crop for cooler highlands
Sugar beet is suited to cooler, temperate conditions, unlike tropical sugarcane. That makes it a natural fit for the highlands of Nyandarua and opens sugar production to a region where cane does not grow well.

Ranges Sugar Holdings processes sugar beet into sugar in Miharati, Nyandarua County, Kenya. Sweet taste in every crystal.
Ranges Sugar Holdings is a Kenyan sugar processor specialising in sugar beet. Based at Sukari House in Miharati, Nyandarua County, the company connects crop cultivation, delivery and factory processing.
Where most Kenyan sugar is processed from sugarcane grown in warm lowland areas, ours is processed from sugar beet grown in the cool highlands of Nyandarua, below the Aberdare Ranges.
Sugar beet is grown in the surrounding fields, harvested and delivered to our factory, where it is processed into sugar. Keeping these stages close together shortens the distance between the farm and the factory, and keeps the work and the value it creates in Nyandarua.

Our sugar is processed from sugar beet at Sukari House and packed for kitchens, shops and businesses.
Once refined, beet sugar is sucrose, the same as the sugar people already know. It dissolves the same, bakes the same and tastes just as sweet. What makes ours different is where it comes from: a root grown in the highlands, not a cane grown in the lowlands.
Clean, free-flowing white sugar for tea, porridge, baking and everyday cooking.
A dependable, consistent ingredient for kitchens that go through sugar every day.

Sugar beet provides an alternative raw material for sugar processing, with opportunities for crop diversification and useful co-products.

Beet can be part of a planned crop rotation alongside the potatoes, cereals and vegetables already grown locally. Rotating crops helps break pest and disease cycles and gives farmers another crop to grow and sell.
Very little of the beet goes to waste. Processing leaves beet pulp, a valued feed for dairy cattle, and molasses, which has its own uses in feed and fermentation. In a dairy county like Nyandarua, those co-products matter.
